PM - HOME MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

The Gly Derm® Home Maintenance Program will help to maintain the results of the in-office facial applications. We recommend these three necessary components.

[ PRO-C ][ SCAR GUARD ] [ GLYDERM] [ GLYQUIN ] [ KINERASE ] [ SOLAQUIN ] [ RETIN A ]
PM PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS
  • Cleanse the skin with Gly Derm® Gentle Cleanser, rinse and pat dry.
  • Apply the Gly Derm® Cream, Lotion, Lotion Lite or Solution, sparingly
Do not use any skin care products on the face once the nightly maintenance product has been applied. Leave first application on for two hours, then wash off. If no irritation occurs within 24 hours, the patient may begin leaving the glycolic moisturizer on overnight.
AM PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONS
  • Cleanse the skin with Gly Derm Gentle Cleanser, rinse and pat dry.
  • Apply a Gly Derm moisturizers (Hydrotone Max, Hydrotone, Hydrotone Lite or our line of Vernix products). Gly Derm Super Sunblock (SPF 25) may be used as a moisturizer, or applied to the skin before a Gly Derm moisturizer is applied.
  • Make-up may then be applied, if desired. Gly Derm recommends water-based make-up on.
Patient may start the glycolic Plus (10%) formulations after two or three months of using 5% formulations. If you elect to start the patient on the Plus formulations, the patient must be rigorously warned about dryness. The Salicylated Plus (12%) products are available to patients that have demonstrated they can use the Plus (10%) products without experiencing excessive dryness, and are ready for the "next-level." You may want to suggest that the patient use the Salicylated Plus (12%) products every other night until he/she is comfortable with the increased strength.
Gly Derm does not manufacture make-up. However, we strongly recommend that patients on the Gly Derm Program use only water-based make-ups. Water-based brands include Prescriptives; Almay and Clinique. These are all slight acidic and will not alter glycolic characteristics.
Unlike over-the-counter products, Gly Derm is not partially neutralized. The patient may experience a slight dryness for the first three to six weeks. This is actually an invisible peeling and is the beneficial effect of the program. Any dryness is easily relieved by the liberal use of the Gly Derm moisturizers. When patients move up to the Salicylated Plus (12%) products, it is particularly important to emphasize this point and recommend the liberal use of moisturizers.
With Oily skin types, there may be a period of mild folliculitis. It occurs, especially around the chin and will subside spontaneously. This is similar to, but much milder than that seen almost invariably with Retin-A® (tretinoin).
